About the Opportunity

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Commercial Credit Assistant to join our team on a full-time basis at our branch in Bonnyville, AB. 

The Commercial Credit Assistant will show aptitude as a trusted assistant to the Commercial Relationship Managers (“RM”) through the fulfilment of certain portions of the commercial and agriculture credit applications and related documentation, carry out member contact for scheduled reporting, completion of margin reporting, and other sundry administrative support duties. This position will provide a sound training platform for future Commercial RM’s.

More specifically, some of your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• In support of the RM, contact members for scheduled reporting and input portions of the credit application to facilitate efficient credit risk analysis by the RM’s.
• Complete draft credit agreements, assist RM with follow-up activity and document sign-off.
• Proactively assess and anticipate member’s needs to identify solutions to meet those needs and the member’s broader business objectives, as it pertains to non-credit matters.
• Foster long term member relationships with follow-ups and identify opportunities for referrals in order to cross-sell credit union products and services.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of all Lakeland Credit Union commercial lending products and services credit union lending policy, procedure and documentation.
• Ensure all documentation is complete, accurate and in compliance with relevant legislation, regulation, policies and procedures.

More About You

In order to qualify for this role, you will need to understand and analyze financial statements. Proficiency in Microsoft office is essential. While not required, a Business diploma is an asset.
